Bangladesh academic entry route

Bangladesh postgraduate route: recognised Bachelor degree equivalent to British Honours with minimum 2:2; Buckingham equivalency table states 2:2 = 60% / GPA 3.0/4.0, 2:1 = 70% / GPA 3.5/4.0, First = 80% / GPA 4.0/4.0. Normally requires a good undergraduate degree comparable to British level 6; applicants without a degree may be considered based on professional experience and qualifications.

Accepted English tests and minimum scores

Postgraduate English: IELTS 6.5 overall with 6.0+ each component for most taught postgraduate courses; TOEFL iBT 79 with L12/R13/S18/W21; PTE Academic 59-65 with all components 59; Skills for English B2 Pass with Merit; LanguageCert Academic average 70 with 65+ each component; recognised school/IB/prior English-medium routes where official conditions are met.

Bangladesh application route

As of 13 March 2025, Bangladesh-domiciled applicants must apply via one of Buckingham’s approved agents; direct applications from Bangladesh are not accepted for undergraduate/postgraduate courses.

Supporting documents

Official application requires academic certificates/transcripts and English evidence; programme-specific documents, interview, professional experience, or portfolio may be required where stated by the course/admissions tutor.

Scholarship visibility

Budget/scholarship note: Postgraduate First-Class Scholarship can reduce tuition fees by 33% for eligible new UK and international postgraduate students with a recognised First Class Bachelor Honours/equivalent; competitive/eligibility-dependent, not guaranteed.
